How do I prepare for my first Male Brazilian Waxing

If you're getting waxed for the first time, here are some essential tips for the best results:
1. **Hair Growth**: Ensure your hair is about 1/4 inch long, which typically requires waiting about 3.5 weeks after your last shaving or trimming.
2. **Exfoliation**: Do not use exfoliants for 4 days before your waxing appointment, as waxing itself is a form of exfoliation.
3. **Hygiene**: Shower thoroughly without applying any products to your skin at least two hours before your appointment. Wax does not adhere well to moist skin.
4. **Clothing**: Wear or bring loose clothing and underwear to your appointment. This will help prevent friction after waxing.
5. **Pain Management**: Some people choose to take Benadryl and Ibuprofen 15 minutes before their appointment to help reduce pain and inflammation. This is optional, but know that waxing hair off can present some discomfort.
6. **Post-Waxing Care**: Hair is connected to microscopic blood vessels, which can cause sensitivity for a few days. Avoid activities that cause friction or sweating for the first 24 hours, such as:
- Motorcycle rides
- Long flights
- Long car rides
- Cycling
- Full workouts
- Running
- Taking long walks or hiking
- Parties and dancing
- Intimacy with partner or otherwise
- Consuming excessive alcohol
Following these guidelines helps prevent rashes, chafing (folliculitis), or infections.
7. **Avoid Water and Sun**: For 72 hours post-waxing, do not submerge in any body of water (to reduce the risk of infection) or sunbathe nude (to prevent hyperpigmentation or burns).
These precautions should be followed every time you get waxed. While it may seem like a lot, planning to relax for three days can make a significant difference. You can resume light household chores after the second day.
