Holiday Waxing: How to Prepare for Smooth, Confident Skin

Planning ahead is key when it comes to holiday waxing. For best results, schedule your waxing appointment 2–3 days before your event. This allows your skin time to calm and heal, especially if you’re new to waxing.

Before your appointment, gently exfoliate and keep your skin well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water and moisturizing regularly. Hair should be at least ¼ inch long so the wax can grip effectively. Be sure to review any pre-waxing instructions provided by your esthetician to ensure the smoothest experience possible.

After waxing, it’s important to avoid friction of any kind, especially the first 24 hours.

Wear loose, breathable clothing and follow all post-waxing care instructions given during your intake. I also recommend reading “All About Waxing” on my website, which walks you through what to expect before your treatment and how to care for your skin afterward.

For long-term results, regular waxing every 4–6 weeks helps train hair to grow back finer and keeps your skin smoother for longer. If you’re preparing for a special occasion, always allow a couple of days between your waxing appointment and your event so your skin looks and feels its best.
